Teaching Methods

The presentation of the listed themes will be made using mainly bibliography (books and articles) and sites of reference institutions (UNESCO and European Union), where it is possible to obtain reports, studies, work and relevant information on the subjects under discussion.

In the practical classes exercises will be carried out from national and international references, under the general theme Heritage and its Geographies. As a complement, it is intended to include lectures with guest speakers and the organization of technical visits.

Learning Outcomes

The aim is to strengthen theoretical and practical knowledge about the importance of tourist routes and heritage in development processes, both territorial (regional and local) and sectoral, especially in tourism activity. This implies pursuing two complementary objectives:

a) To present and discuss subjects that allow to deepen themes such as:

- Tourist routes: routes, destinations, itineraries;

- Heritage, territory resources: classification, identification, regulatory framework;

- Heritage and development: resources, policies, strategies.

b) Acquire practical skills from the analysis of some reference routes, territorial and thematic, national and international, from the inventory of heritage resources and from tourist route planning exercises.
