Teaching Methods

In-person and theoretical-practical classes, combining specific iconography, critical textual analysis, showing of documentary films, individual and group work etc. Periodic evaluations.

Learning Outcomes

Students should be able to:

1. identify the geographic characteristics of the Iberian Peninsula during the Pleistocene and early Holocene periods;

2. gain a knowledge of the hunter-gatherer societies and the first agro-pastoral societies of the region;

3. identify the processes of emergence of the hierarchical and complex societies of the Iberian Peninsula.;

4. recognize the diverse processes involved in cultural change..

5. use this knowledge in the context of Europe, the Mediterranean and the rest of the world.
