Theoretical-practical lectures by the professors, the use of diverse sources of typology, presentations by students, discussions and comments.
Learning Outcomes
Students should:
- Understand the basic concepts of the chronological development of discourse, representations and legal-political conditions, family, socio-economic, technical, cultural and religious of women of the West European Middle Ages to the tweentieth century;
- Understand the diversity of women's daily lives and behaviors and their differences compared to current coeval standards and myths;
- Acquire skills for the critical understanding of current issues of gender equality and its historical roots.

In each of the Ages (Medieval, Modern and Contemporary) we will discuss aspects listed in the learning objectives to the extent that current research permits:
1. Standards discussions and representations of women.
2. Legal status and political rights. Women and power.
3. Women in the family and in the church.
4. Social and economic pluralities. Women and work.
5. Women and culture: personages, creation and consumption.
