Teaching Methods
There is a solid theoretical basis during the first half of the curricular unit. These classes are intended to provide the students with the necessary background, so that they are able to develop critical thinking about the subjects, including the more practical issues. On a second level the classes will have a progressively more practical component. Therefore, during the semester, the sessions will take place at the classroom, at the radio and television studios and outdoor for shooting video and recording audio.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this program, students are expected to be able to:
- develop critical awareness of broadcast media practices and contexts,
- analyze the language of radio and television and understand the principles of its production
- identify key stories and prepare news briefs
- write news for both television and radio
- write and read broadcast news scripts
- demonstrate the basic abilities to shoot video and record audio
