Theoretical and practical lessons
We work with the method "Opmaat", developed at the University of Utrecht.
Culture classes are plenary classes in which we have regularly lecturers invited.
Learning Outcomes
It is intended that students will learn to communicate in everyday situations. Oral communication will be especially important.
The student will learn grammar basic rules and vocabulary.
The presentation of the Netherlands and Belgium: geography, history, culture and literature. will take some of the classes.
Goal is to attain level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference.

Grammatical contents:
• The sentence: subject and verb conjugation, questions and main clauses.
• The verb: regular verbs in the present and the most common irregular verbs in the present
• Personal pronouns as subject and complement and possessive.
• The noun in the singular and plural and their articles.

Lexical content:
Vocabulary relating to personal information, time and timetable, food, home and furniture and transport
Culture:
Aspects of the Netherlands and Flanders culture: geography and politics, traditional events, history and contemporary life, will be addressed.
The language history will also be addressed as well as aspects of the history of Dutch speaking countries.
