Recommended Prerequisites

The student must have the 2nd cycle studies and have  knowledges in english and french, and, if possible, in germany.

Teaching Methods

Combined use of different methods: the expository method (presentation of matters in class by the professor) and the collaborative method (presentation of the subjet-matter by asking questions to students and discussing the respective answers). The evaluation involves na oral presentation of their reflection and conclusions over a specific issue, and the subsequent discussion in which all students should participate. A paper has to be presented at the end of the semester.

Learning Outcomes

The aim of the syllabus is to provide students with a global understanding about the concept and theimplementation of the judiciary cooperation in criminal matters in the European Union, and with the knowledge of the classic judiciary cooperation, namely, law aspects, principles and  modalities, and of the mecanism of mutual recognition, namely, the principle and its implementation. The syllabus will focuses on the negative effects and on the positive effects of the judiciary decisions in other Member-States. The syllabus also intends to develop research skills, namely the ability to lay out new questions and analyse from a ctitical perspective the subject discussed.
