Teaching Methods

In-class theory exposition, discussion of concepts, analysis of real cases. Theoretical knowledge and practical exercises will be provided as guidance for studying and in-class discussion. Students’ participation is valued and they will be invited to take a lead on the topics and situations discussed in class, based on their own interests and experiences.    

Learning Outcomes

Overall objectives

This course is designed for those who are committed to reflecting upon human behavior, interpersonal relations and models of social and economic organization in modern societies. Therefore, it specifically introduces students to the debate about the ethical implications of business practices and the responsibilities that bind organizations to society. Hence, the course also aims to engage students in the current debate on Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics, through a series of interactive learning activities.

Specific objectives

To discuss the definition and importance of CSR in a business context. To introduce students to a discussion about the meaning and practical implications of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in contemporary business contexts.

Accordingly, theoretical knowledge and practical exercises will be provided as guidance for studying and in-class discussion.
