Teaching Methods

The presentation of theoretical content will be used in association with the active participation of students, by means of discussions, document analysis and production (in different formats), and group work.

Learning Outcomes

The uc aims to deepen the knowledge and understanding of the role of media in modern society and raise awareness of the importance of promoting media literacy and its relation to the exercise of participatory citizenship, based on individual and collective responsibility. Taking the media as an object of study and reflection, the principles, objectives, themes and activities of media education will be analyzed, in order to promote the acquisition of skills for planning and developing activities and projects in this field.

 

Skills to be developed:

- Recognize the importance of media education and its role in the development of a participative citizenship

- Know the main national and international guidelines in the area of media education

- Know the aims and theoretical perspectives on media education

- Understand key concepts, themes and strategies of media education

- Conceive and implement intervention proposals in this area
