Recommended Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of mathematics and statistics.

Teaching Methods

The methodology includes lectures, using audiovisual means and practices in computer room. It will seek to promote an active and participatory learning, focusing on the interaction, in order to better understand the logic that predates the use of statistical tests.

Learning Outcomes

To know, understand and apply the components, and their relationships, of the three vertices of the triangle that constitutes the statistical work: Research Question, data and statistical models.

• The three vertices of statistical work: Research question, data and statistical models,

• Reviews of concepts of statistical and mathematical statistics,

• The linear regression model,

• The factor analysis model,

• Introduction to Cluster Analysis,

• Use of Stata for data management and manipulation and model estimation.
