Recommended Prerequisites

The domain of concepts, modalities and methodology of reference, and the domain of models for planning and assessment of educational projects.

Teaching Methods

Expository method and group work using audiovisual and IT resources. Sessions are fundamentally theoretical and practical, dialogical and argumentative, including the presentation of topics and guidance for students’ achievement of moments of questioning, reflection and integration of knowledge from texts and research in order to (re)construction of evaluative frameworks in the different fields of educational evaluation.

Learning Outcomes

The curricular unit Evaluation of Processes, Organizations and Educational Policies aims to deepen scientific knowledge in the field of educational evaluation and develop the ability to intervene in their various practices.

In this curricular unit it is aimed that students:

- Analyze critically the most significant areas concerning practices for student evaluation, teacher appraisal and evaluation of training processes, evaluation of schools, evaluation curriculum, socio-educational and community projects and evaluation of educational policies;

- Reflect on the (re)construction of evaluative frameworks in the different fields of educational evaluation.

Syllabus

Development of knowledge and critical reflection about the evaluation and assessment framework, taking into account context and features, strengths, challenges and recommendations in some levels of analysis.

 Education system evaluation. National tests and international student surveys.

Student assessment. From national standardised tests to ongoing formative assessment in the classroom.

Teacher appraisal and evaluation of training processes. National system of teacher performance.

School evaluation. External evaluation by the General Inspectorate of Education and school self-evaluation.

Socio-educational and community projects assessment and evaluation of educational policies.
