Teaching Methods

Referring to the topic / issue of each in-person session, its methods are as follows:

- Presentation of contents and supported analysis of documents (in various media),

- Carrying out individual and/or small group tasks.

- Extended group discussion

- Carrying out individual and/or small group tasks.

- Tutorial monitoring (for diverse learning support)

- Training of skills

The tasks started in the seminar are concluded withautonomous work by students.  

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this curricular unit the student should be able to:

- Know different areas and practices in education and training, establishing contact with organizations and educational and training projects in the option areas of UOI

-Collaborate with educators in institutions that were elected as contexts of observation and intervention.

- Develop a scientific and critical attitude towards the practices of professionals and after the observation of situations and educational organizations.

- Develop capacity for teamwork, collaboration, negotiation and participatory decision making, among other personal and social skills needed for the professional practice in Education.

- Design and implement intervention strategies appropriate to the observed problems and contexts

- Draw up an activity report.

A) Contents of the Seminar

1. Professionalism in Education and Training: today challenges

- The challenges of interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity

- Professional Identity, Professions and Professionality  

2. Theory, research and practice in education: articulation on the scientific, training and professional paths in Education.

3. Transversal and specific skills of professionals in Education: formative profiles and professional fields

4. Development processes of the skills necessary to work as an expert in Education

5. Processes of education and training throughout life

 

B) Contents to be determined in each of the following option areas of UOI: Psychopedagogy, Special Education and Training of Teachers and Trainers; Educational Administration and Management of Education and Training; Social Education, Adult Education and Professional Training; Communication and Education Technologies and Distance Education.
