Teaching Methods

The methodologies will follow those recommended for teaching a non-native language:
• Individual and collective production of written texts of various text types;
• implementation of techniques for text improvement;
• understanding / interpretation of written texts;
• verbal interaction between teacher and students and interaction between students (presenting subjects for the production of written texts; debates in order to prepare the written production; oral debates);
• simulation of everyday regularly encountered situations in order to promote spoken interaction making use of different linguistic registers;
• metalinguistic reflection;
• theoretical presentation;

• practice of the rules and contents that were taught in simulated situations of use.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, the student should have acquired the skills envisaged in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​for A2 level in order to advance to level B1. The student should be able to understand simple texts written in a familiar or everyday standard Portuguese read / understand correspondence concerning areas of most immediate relevance (emails, letters, or notes, of a personal nature or request information , orders, complaints); should be able to understand and ask instructions, warnings and understand short narrative type texts in the media, should be able to interact in family situations using short and well structured sentences. The student should be able to communicate in familiar situations in an everyday life context.
