Teaching Methods

The student must successfully complete the thesis plan with great autonomy. The Advisors are always available for dialogue and discussion of ideas and, annually or whenever necessary, supervisors along with the responsible (member of the Scientific Committee of the Program) of the school where the student performs most of his/her work and the members of the Monitoring Committee of the student, evaluate progress, difficulties and suggest new approaches and contacts considered useful for achieving the objetives initially proposed.

Learning Outcomes

Conduct research on topics of the scientific areas covered by the doctoral program with great autonomy and originality in order to deepen the knowledge already established. It is also intended that the student acquires skills / complementary skills that stand out: the habit of keeping track of the frontiers of knowledge, responsible attitude on issues of sustainable applications of materials and associated technologies, good planning, execution and analysis of experimental work, the ability to implement innovative solutions to complex problems in Materials Engineering, an integrated and critical view of Materials Science and Engineering and their applications, a proactive knowledge transfer 'from laboratory to industry'.

This part of the doctoral program is entirely devoted to the research and writing of the dissertation. The specific curricular path is determined by the theme of the thesis.

Assessment Methods

Evaluation
The assessment will be made by the jury PhD, taking into account the scientific quality of the work (doctoral thesis and scientific papers originating from the PhD thesis), and the performance of the doctoral student during the public defence of the thesis.: 100.0%
