Learning Outcomes
This curricular unit will present the most relevant techniques used into modern product development, providing the students know the basics of drawing rules and techniques, CAD modeling and materials selection topics.
At the end, students should:
1. Understand the capabilities of a set of softwares which enable modelling and improve the concept design, simulation of machining, computer aided measurement, filling and solidification simulation and rapid prototyping techniques;
2. Know how to use the most relevant softwares of the before mentioned areas;
3. Be able to develop an integrated project from a rough idea up to a geometrical, dimensional and microstructural, high performance functional prototype in a selected material.
