The teaching of this course is based on theoretical and theoretical-practical classes, supported by the analysis of bibliography, documents and maps. Continuous assessment focuses on the preparation of individual papers

Learning Outcomes

Given the historical period of the 19th and 20th centuries in Portugal:

- To interpret the evolution and power lines of the Portuguese Strategic Concept;

- To study warfare in terms of strategy, organization, and military administration;

- To analyze the methodology for use of military force, taking into account the objectives to be achieved and the threats to be overcome;

- To understand the integration of the armed forces and the military in the political and social context.
