Teaching Methods

Theoretical and practical methods of communication, performance oriented actions, tasks and projects.

Practicing oral and written skills using different types of written texts and audiovisual materials.

It will be used texts of several types (interview, article, editorial, opinion piece, report, website, song, publicity, reporting, excerpt from a novel or a dramatic text, poem, biography, etc..), in order to enable students to deal with different discursive sequences (dialog, narrative description, explanation and argumentation).

Learning Outcomes

This course aims to provide practical skills on oral and written French, aising also a greater awareness of francophone culture.  Especially recommended for students, teachers, researchers or anyone engaged in exchange programs with Francophone countries.

. Competences to be developed by students:

- Oral competence: understanding documents from the francophone world and oral expression.

- Writing Competence: mastering vocabulary from different subject areas, using basic and complex structures, from current authentic documents.
- Development the capacity of: HEARING / SEEING / READING (learning some reading techniques);
- Understanding French language functioning;
- Training: INTERACTING / TALKING / WRITTING;
- Research work: research, particularly on the internet.
