Recommended Prerequisites

Basic Concepts of Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning and Policy.

Teaching Methods

The theoretical-practical classes expose concepts, principles and fundamental theories of the thematic areas of the program. The presentation of the theoretical subjects is complemented by the presentation of practical and reference examples. Some practical exercises are also used to consolidate concepts and integrated application of techniques and models.

Development of at least one practical work, to be done in group, directed to the study of a real base problem with some complexity, where the integration of techniques and methodologies sector is essential.

Learning Outcomes

Development of specialized competences to solve multi-disciplinary Traffic Engineering problems.

Learning of the potential, applicability conditions and design principles and methodologies associated to the main road, pedestrian and bicycle networks’ components.

Development of basic systemic and integrated analysis competences with special emphasis on problems located within urban environments.
