Teaching Methods

Tutorial guidance: supervision of the dissertation / internship with a final report / project work done in direct contact with the supervisor (or supervisors) in individual sessions;

Autonomous working: In addition to the tutorial sessions, the student must carried out an autonomous work, critical and innovative.

Learning Outcomes

With this curricular unit, the advisor (or advisors) aims to supervise the student in the preparation of the dissertation/internship with report/project work, through regular meetings, face-to-face. They can, however, take other complementary forms of informal communication such as e-mail, video conferencing, skype, etc. The meetings should analyze student's difficulties and progress, validate the objectives and methodologies in use, discuss the results and documents produced. Whenever necessary, field work should be carried out to collect data.

The student in articulation with the Advisor (or Advisors) should analyze and discuss the following topics:

- Identification of the objective(s)/problem (s) to be investigated

- Collection and analysis of the relevant bibliography

- Definition of working hypotheses or starting points

- Selection and application of appropriate research methodologies

- Data collection and organization, analysis and interpretation of results

- Production of written documents

- Other themes of relevance to the achievement of the defined objectives.
