Teaching Methods

Tutorial guidance: supervision of the dissertation / internship with a final report / project work conducted in direct contact with the supervisor (or supervisors) in individual sessions;

Autonomous work: In addition to attending the tutorial sessions, students must carry out an autonomous work.

Learning Outcomes

With this curricular unit, the supervisor(s) aims to monitor students in the preparation of the dissertation/internship with final report/project work, through regular face-to-face meetings. Nevertheless, other communication channels may be used, such as e-mail, video conferencing, Skype, etc. The meetings should be used to analyse the students' difficulties and progress, to validate the objectives and methodologies in use, and to discuss the results and the produced documents.

In combination with their Supervisors(s), students should analyse and discuss the following topics:

- Precise identification of the objective(s)/problem(s) to be researched

- Gathering and analysis of relevant bibliography

- Definition of working hypotheses or starting points

- Selection and application of appropriate research methodologies

- Gathering, organisation, analysis, and interpretation of results

- Production of written documents

- Other themes relevant to the achievement of the established goals.
