Recommended Prerequisites
The knowledge acquired during the first year of courses of the master program.
Teaching Methods
A seminar topic and a precise list of bibliographic items will be given, for calibrating the knowledge of the student. The work of the student will consist of reading, studying, and discussing the topic, under the regular guidance of the seminar adviser.
Learning Outcomes
The main goal is testing and enriching the knowledge in Applied Analysis and Computing gained during the first year, under the supervision of a faculty member.
The seminar course aims at developing the following skills: knowledge of mathematical results; ability to formulate and solve problems; ability to communicate well and clearly, in speaking and writing. On the personal level it also allows to develop self-learning, research and communication skills.

Assessment Methods
Assessment
The evaluation will consider the performance of the student along the semester, a written document on the topic studied, and a public presentation of the same. The grade will take into account the three abovementioned components, weighting the performance along the semester no more than 50%.: 100.0%
