Recommended Prerequisites

Following the Research Seminar I (1st semester), it is therefore necessary to demonstrate ability to deepen previous readings and demonstrate knowledge and skills to enable a good structuring of research to developed.

Teaching Methods

This course enhances a method of classroom teaching, which presupposes the availability of students to attend and participate in class (by meeting the terms defined in the evaluation method).

Learning Outcomes

a) To continue the process of preparing doctoral projects, creating conditions for them to be commented and discussed between teachers and students, b) sharing of research experiences that can be used as references for the students.

Syllabus

There are no pre-defined programmatic contents for this unit. In this curricular unit, sessions of different content will take place, always aiming to guide doctoral students in research work and the preparation of the Thesis Project II. An active participation of doctoral students, continuing the group discussion of previous versions of the project (Project Thesis I), discussing and deepening the assumptions and perspectives of analysis developed in the first version of the research project. In some sessions professors from Faculties will make presentations based on their research experiences. In addition,  there is also space for two conferences, counting with the participations of visiting professors (both Portuguese and foreign).

Assessment
The evaluation method consists of: presenting the thesis project (to demonstrate improvements vis-à-vis the previous version of "Thesis project I"); making a comment of a project of another student; regular participation during the classes; attendance.: 100.0%
