Teaching methods include addition of theoretical presentations and conducting fieldwork with reporting. The electronic media and e-learning will also be used.
Learning Outcomes
To learn the relevance of medical error, how to deal and use it as an opportunity to improve safety. The concepts and definitions of medical error, the epidemiology, contributing factors, human, organization and systemic, must be known to be minimized or eliminated. The complexity of healthcare and organization classification according to safety must be known. To do a root cause analysis and a failure mode effects analysis. To know how to communicate with health professionals and patients or relatives about medical errors. To know how to transform healthcare units into high reliable organizations.
