The same prerequisites for being accepted in the doctoral program, including English proficiency.

Teaching Methods

Monitoring the preparative work leading to the PhD project. To achieve the objectives will be put into work, with individual follow-up, and dealing with the matters addressed in the seminar, namely, a detailed report on progress on dissertation.

The evaluation of this report will be made in discussion with the student, by a jury consisting of two teachers in addition to the his/her supervisor(s).

To provide situations in which the student is confronted with the presentation of a scientific work.

To provide students the scientific and logistics for the preparation of their research project.

Syllabus

This course is intended to provide the scientific and logistics for the implementation of doctoral dissertations.

The seminar will involve the participation of several specialists in research methods, which will enable the acquisition and development of knowledge regarding different methods for gathering and analyzing data. This will be tailored to the specific needs of students.

In addition, each student will be accompanied by an advisor designated for this purpose and should be part of the cast of teachers of this program. The mentor and the student should schedule a series of meetings to follow tutorials, which should never provide less than 30 contact hours during the year. These meetings will set the annual work plan will be gauged in several meetings between the student and his advisor, to develop the work. The program also includes the possibility of co-inner guidance to the University of Coimbra, external, given that the guiding principal has to be part of the cast of teachers and the program should express its willingness to co-direct with the person appointed.
