Knowledge gained in the first four years of the Integrated Master Course in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Teaching Methods

Lectures supported by visual material (Powerpoint presentation) with active participation of students through questions.   

Learning Outcomes

Students should be knowledgeable about:

Preparation, control, selection, acquisition, storage and dispensing of medicines for human use in hospital pharmacy services, either of public or private entities. Drug utilization studies.

Clinical monitoring and pharmacokinetics of drug therapy in an environment of hospital and outpatient clinic. Risk management.

Preparation of intravenous mixtures for cancer therapy, gene therapy and clinical nutrition and non-sterile preparations.

Role of the pharmacist in clinical trials and technical committees of therapeutics and ethics. Information and consultation on medicinal products for humans of prescription and non-prescription medicines, tailored for health professionals and patients in order to promote their rational use.
