Teaching Methods
The teaching methods are through lectures based on curricular unit syllabus using " data-show ." During these lectures, some examples of applications of the concepts are provided towards a better understanding by students. The theory-practical component of the course is taught through " data show " emphasizing student participation in solving practical cases related to formulation and its key components , and counselling towards its use adequate.
Learning Outcomes
Theoretical and technical knowledge of preparations to be administered locally in the skin with therapeutic action – skin delivering medicines - and preparations for the care, protection and correction of skin and its annexes – cosmetics. Community pharmacy counselling about dermopharmacy and cosmetics as well improve communications skills focused on dermopharmacy with health professionals.

Physiology of the skin and its regulation.
Characterization of the skin.
Superficial and deep skin hydration.
Common Portuguese epidermal and dermal skin diseases; local and general treatment.
Active substances used in Dermatology and Cosmetics.
Formulation of dermopharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
Dermopharmaceuticals and cosmetic products , hygiene and beauty care of the skin and its appendages.
Sun protection formulations and produtcs to prevent, treat and protect the effects of the sun on skin.
Legislation on cosmetics

Discussion about dermopharmaceuticals cosmetic dosage forms and formulations of existing preparations in the market.
