Recommended Prerequisites

Constitutional Law (Fundamental Rights and Constitutional Justice), and foreign languages proficiency (French, English, Italian, Spanish, German).

Teaching Methods

Each Professor will lecture on the main topics of his/her module. Then, students will make short presentations on specific points of the theme and a discussion facilitated by the Professor will follow.

Learning Outcomes

The general theme of the course will include the following modules:

  1. Economic and social rights in a time (or in times) of crisis: a “theory of scarcity” and/or a “theoretical scarcity”? Some contributions toward an analysis of the principles of sustainability and intergenerational justice in the social welfare field – by Prof. João Loureiro;
  2. Social Rights Enforcement by the Constitutional Court – by Prof. Fernando Alves Correia;
  3. The Right to Health – by Prof. Vera Lúcia Raposo
  4. The Enforcement of the Right to Housing by the Constitutional Court – by Prof. Fernanda Paula Oliveira
