Teaching Methods

The learning process is supported by two different strategies:

a) Reading texts on the different types of intervention presented;

b) Analyzing a Parental Education session and filling out a grid for identifying the Top 10 of Positive Parenthood and the Golden Rule of parental education.

As a final synthesis activity, students will be asked to provide their own Recommendations for the implementation of a parent-education response on a local service.

 

During the whole module, students will be able to ask questions about, and receive feedback on, the ongoing activities by the course professors.

 

The assessment will be based on a 0 to 20 scale and will consist of the activities mentioned in a) and b). Both activities will contribute equally to the final grade.

Learning Outcomes

In this module, students are expected to:

1. Get acquainted with different Parental Education programs/intervention plans developed with a view to fulfilling different needs/serving different age groups;

2. Understand how the Top 10 of Parental Education and the Golden Rule of parental education are articulated within a program/intervention plan.
