Teaching Methods

The teaching-learning process is supported by four types of strategies:

a. reading and analyzing 10 support texts and identifying the most surprising characteristics of or any relevant information that should be added to these texts, providing proper justification to the choices made

b. observing an interaction between a parental educator and a child, and filling out a grid that allows for the identification of the Top 10 of positive parenthood

c. providing a joint reflection (in an internet forum or a chat room) on positive parenthood behaviors

d. developing materials that will be made available for families to help communicating the skills that parental educators must have in order to carry out a positive parenthood.

During the whole module, students will be able to ask questions about, and receive feedback on, the ongoing activities by the course professors.

The assessment will be based on a 0 to 20 scale and will consist of the activities mentioned in a), b) and d). All of the activities will contribute equally to the final grade.
