Teaching Methods

Given the strong complementarity between the curricular units of Oral Communication, Written Communication and Structures of the Portuguese Language, it is intended to start from oral and written stimuli, and from opportunities to use the language, to the explicit study of grammatical structures and of the lexicon relating to the thematic areas covered by the program.

Learning Outcomes

According to the general objectives defined in the CEFR for this level, upon completing the curricular unit (u.c.), the student should be able to:

- interact with other speakers in different contexts, in the private, public, educational and professional domains, expressing discursive and pragmatic skills to deal efficiently, with some autonomy, with different interlocutors in common everyday situations;

- understand written texts in common everyday situations;

- produce articulate and coherent statements on matters of interest;

- use relatively correctly a repertoire of structures and grammatical forms associated with more or less known and predictable situations.

Thus, it is intended to work on lexical and grammatical content necessary for oral and written communication, aiming to understand and produce fluent, clear and coherent utterances, relating to most situations that an independent user may encounter in their daily lives, in oral speech and in writing.
