Teaching Methods
The methods used are those recommended for teaching a non-native language:
- Individual and collective production of different types of speech;
- Text comprehension/interpretation;
- Comprehension / interpretation of simple speech
- Teacher-student and student-student verbal interaction
- Metalinguistic reflection;
- Theoretical explanation;
- Application of rules and topics addressed in language use situations.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
– Understand the main points of clear standard input on everyday matters, as well as the language spoken in short films or documentaries provided it is clearly articulated;
– Understand descriptions, narratives, letters and other texts in standard language on topics of everyday life and areas of personal interest;
– Describe experiences and events, ambitions and personal feelings, engage in conversation in a spontaneous manner and express points of view.
