Recommended Prerequisites
Students must have successfully completed the 1st year of the second phase of the Integrated Master's in Psychology sub-area of Clinical Psychogerontology.
Teaching Methods
Teaching is mostly tutorial, based on active methodologies (observation and participation in activities) in the institution where the internship takes place. The supervision carried out by the FPCE is also tutorial and active, implying the presentation and discussion of cases.
Learning Outcomes
Prepare the students for professionalization in the contex of the psychologist clinical work, in activities related to the health and pathological ageing;
Provide formative experiences in a professional context, where previous acquired knowledge in the Master of Psychology can be applied and developed, articulating theory, practice and research;
Promote the acquisition/development of knowledge and competencies, underlying clinical practice;
Favour the student's professional and personal development, necessary to professional performance and lifelong learning.

a) Clinical:
- (Neuro)Psychological assessment and with case reports;
- Cognitive rehabilitation,counseling, psychotherapy, ageing projects/programs in the community).
b) Personal and Interpersonal:
Responsability, initiative, autonomy;
Multidisciplinary teamwork;
Critical thinking and self-evaluation of the accomplished work;
Understand the impact of stereotypes relating to old age/ageing.

1. Seminar of internship preparation.
2. Trainee integration in the institution and in the clinical team:
2.1 Knowing the team, the institution and the provided services;
2.2 Observation and participation in psychological activities in the institution (e.g., hospital).
3. Internship full application of knowledge and skills in the professional context, in a tutorial context:
3.1 (Neuro)psychological assessment and case reports communication;
3.2 Intervention (cognitive rehabilitation, counseling, psychotherapy, ageing projects/programs implemented in the community).
3.3 Active participation on the clinical multidisciplinary meetings:
3.4 Internship reports elaboration (intercalate and final).
4. Supervision activities in FPCE-UC:
4.1 Presentation, discussion and supervision of case assessment and intervention of the ongoing clinical cases that are followed in the institution.

The students are evaluated by a jury of three elements, that necessarily includes the advisor. In the evaluation will have, as a reference, among others, the report of the traineeship delivered by the student at the end of the academic year: 100.0%
