Recommended Prerequisites

In accordance with what is established by the “Access Norms to the MIP Specialization Areas/Subareas".

Teaching Methods

The privileged teaching methodologies in the internship are:

- observation, training and autonomous practice of the Psychologist’s Professional activity in the Intership Institution;

- presentation, discussion and reflection upon the specific activities developed in the scope of the internship, taking place in seminars and supervision meetings.

Learning Outcomes

Main objective:

a) Promote the knowledge acquisition and the development of expertise subjacent  to the psychological practice;

b) Proportionate  the articulation of theory with practice;

c) Favour the personal and professional development of the trainee.

Transversal expertise:

a) Instrumental (cognitive, methodological, technological capacities), referring to the work organization;

b) Interpersonal (individual capacities), related with the capacity of interacting with others;

c) Systemic, refer to the capacities and expertise related with the system in its totality and are associated with the comprehension, sensitiveness and knowledge which allows the individual to see how the parts relate and group themselves.

d) Others (namely, attendance, punctuality, opening attitude, capacity of adaptation to change, ongoing commitment in learning and perfecting).

Syllabus

The syllabus involve the Psychology practice in several specialization áreas of the MI, namely:

a) Clinical and Health Psychology – Specialization subareas:

- Cognitive and Behavioural interventions in Health Psychological Disturbances; 

- Clinical Psycho gerontology;

- Forensic Psychology;

- Psychopathology and Dynamic Psychotherapies;

- Systemic, Health and Family.

b) Education, developmental and Counseling Psychology.

c) Organizations and Work Psychology.

Assessment Methods

Assessment
1. The trainee’s assessment is the FPCE UC supervisor’s responsibility, after hearing the monitor of the host institution/service. 2. The trainee’s assessment should integrate the components mentioned in the internship harmonization document, existing in the FPCE UC, and the specific components established by each area/subárea of the MIP specialization: 100.0%
