Teaching Methods

The teaching methodology is based on active learning methodologies in a professional setting prepared for practical skills development.

Learning plan includes two periods:

1º Phase (October to December) is focused on planning and preparing, knowing, observing and adjust to all aspects related with the institution and the internship

2º Phase (January to June) is dedicated to full development and appliance of all activities planned for the internship.

Objetivos de ensino

- Proporcionar ao estudante experiências de prática psicológica em contexto real, onde os conhecimentos adquiridos no curso de mestrado possam ser aplicados e desenvolvidos;

- Favorecer o desenvolvimento pessoal e profissional do estagiário com vista ao estabelecimento de autonomia.

 Objetivos de aprendizagem:

- Desenvolvimento de competências de avaliação psicológica em contextos forenses (condução de entrevista clínica forense; aplicação de provas psicológicas; cotação e interpretação dos resultados; elaboração de relatório);

- Desenvolvimento de competências de intervenção psicoterapêutica e/ou psicoeducativa em contextos forenses;

- Desenvolvimento de competências de trabalho em equipa, nomeadamente em equipa multiprofissional;

- Reflexão crítica e autoavaliação do trabalho realizado

Syllabus

The program contents involved in the practice of Forensic Psychology are:

- Psychological evaluation: of damage and testamentary capacity; evaluation in the Family area (child custody, child protection); in the juvenile delinquency area and in the criminal area.

- Psycthoterapeutic Intervention: a) in the Family area: child custody and child promotion and protection; b) with youth delinquents; c) in prisons; d) with victims of the crime.

- Critical thinking about the Forensic Psychologist's identity, skills, responsibilities and ethics
