Recommended Prerequisites

It is recommended that students must have successfully completed the 1st year of the second phase of the Integrated Master's in Psychology sub-area of Forensic Psychology.

Teaching Methods

Teaching is mostly tutorial, based on active methodologies (observation and participation in activities) in the institution where the internship takes place. The supervision carried out by the FPCE is also tutorial and active, implying the presentation and discussion of cases.

Learning Outcomes

 Goals:

- To prepare the student for the psychological practice, through the integration in the world of the work of the clinical forensic psychologist, promoting the acquisition of knowledge and development of competences on the psychological evaluation and of the intervention, in the forensic context;

- Provide the student with experiences of psychological practice in a professional context, where the knowledge acquired during his / her training in Psychology can be applied and developed;

- To promote the personal and professional development of the student in order to establish autonomy.

Skills:

-Of Psychological evaluation (conducting clinical forensic interview, application of psychological tests, quotation and interpretation of results, report writing);

- Of psychotherapeutic intervention (planning and induction of therapeutic processes in the forensic context);

- Teamwork;

- Critical reflection and self-evaluation of the work done

Syllabus

The syllabus involve the practice of Forensic Psychology on:

- Psychological assessment: damage and testamentary capacity; evaluation in the Family area (parental skills and practices, child promotion and protection); in the LTE area with juvenil delinquency; in the penal system.

- Therapeutic intervention: family and parental intervention; with young offenders; with aggressors within the penal system; with victims.

Assessment
The students are evaluated by a jury of three elements, that necessarily includes the supervisor. In the evaluation will have, as a reference, among others, the report of the traineeship delivered by the student at the end of the academic year: 100.0%
