Learning Outcomes

Intervention in advanced age, due to the confluence of several factors, needs to be a complex and eclectic approach. In this discipline, these factors are analyzed in order to enable the student to understand the different intervention modalities.

 

The student is encoureged to:

To acquire basic knowledge about the topics that most frequently arise in the therapeutic intervention with the elderly, as well as the predominant mental disorders and possibilities of intervention.

Understand historical connections and theoretical and social influences that shape current thinking and research in the area.

Know how to apply the main theoretical orientations to case studies and clinical experiences.

Develop basic attitudes and skills to establish a helping relationship.

Acquire the capacity to develop programs of intervention in old age in the main areas of performance of the psychologist.
