Teaching Methods
Considering that the Educational Psychology curricular unit is located programmatically at the graduation level, and therefore consists of a first approach to this discipline, the teaching method will be essentially expository. Teachers will teach with audiovisual resources that allow students to have summaries of the subjects covered in classes. In order to avoid dispersion of readings and bibliographic sources, there will be a handbook that covers all the syllabus and some secondary bibliographic references for further study will also be available.
Learning Outcomes
The curricular unit Educational Psychology has as main objective the acquisition of the fundamental knowledge of this discipline in the scope of psychological sciences. In this way, students will have to understand its origins and evolution scenarios in an interdisciplinary perspective and in synergy with other fields of knowledge, namely Developmental Psychology and Differential Psychology. In this relationship, students should master the main issues related to the processes of teaching, lifelong learning and skills development, both from a cognitive point of view and from the point of view of motivational, emotional and social dynamics. Students should also be able to demonstrate the importance of intervention in Educational Psychology based on empirical evidence.
