Teaching Methods
This course uses several pedagogical approaches. Classes where theoretical foundations are explained, and practical examples of knowledge consolidation are presented. Classes on solving practical exercises on economic-financial analysis of investments. Preparation outside of class, by groups of 2 students, of a Business Plan for an investment in implementing a “business idea” of their choice, which is presented and discussed in front of teachers and colleagues. The 4th chapter (Entrepreneurship with Innovation) is based on lectures given by invited entrepreneurs.
Learning Outcomes
The aim of this course is to provide students with skills in terms of entrepreneurship and innovation. After completing this course, students should be able to: (i) understand the economic and financial reality of entities; (ii) understand their current economic and financial documents; (iii) perform current economic and financial calculations; (iv) identify the risks and resources needed to create a new business and to improve production processes; (v) know the most appropriate methods of financing; (vi) perform the economic and financial analysis of investments; (vii) prepare a business plan; (viii) collaborate (or lead if necessary) in the compilation of economic and financial information, in its analysis and in subsequent decision-making; (ix) understand and distinguish the various types of innovation and their interconnection with entrepreneurship; and (x) identify innovative ideas, develop them and transform them into real businesses
