Learning Outcomes
The main objective of this curricular unit is the familiarization of students with the issues of economics and industrial management. After this curricular unit the student should be prepared to perform economical and financial calculations related with the engineering activity (such as determining the cost of production, calculation of interest, economic analyses of investment alternatives, etc.), to understand the economic and financial reality of companies where they will work and to dialogue with their managers, economists and accountants. Also, it cannot be forgotten the large number of engineers who, sooner or later, turns out to perform the task manager. In this curricular unit we will dwell with economic and financial aspects, but from the engineer perspective.
