Teaching Methods
Theoretical presentation of the course subjects using slides and videos. Resolution of problems using the quality tools. The problems will be solved by groups of students, thus promoting a discussion of different approaches to solve the proposed problems.
Learning Outcomes
The Quality is one of the main factors taken into account by customers when deciding which product or service should be acquired. Thus the understanding of the quality concepts and how to measure and control the quality is vital for the success of any business.
After this course the student should be able to: understand and discuss the concept of quality in what concerns it application in engineering; use the tools available to measure and control the quality of a product/service during it development/project and production stage; be able to understand and develop the main documents required to implement a formal quality system.
