Syllabus

Introduction: Materials selection, material properties: examples, educational programmes. Flexural analysis and design of beams: Shear and diagonal tension in beams. Creep and shrinkage prediction: Model for analysis and design of concrete structures: model B3. Anchorage, Serviceability analysis, Design for torsion: Bond, anchorage, and developmental length. Columns: Short columns, slender columns, strut-and-tie models. Design of reinforcement at joints. Analysis of indeterminate beams and frames. Analysis and design of slabs: Yield line analysis for slabs 15 strip method for slabs. Footings and Foundations. Retaining walls. Concrete building systems. Prestressed concrete. Reserve.
