Teaching Methods

Theoretical and practical lectures, in the classroom, lab or eventually in the field. Teaching methods fall into: the Cognitive Model of Education - oral presentation with deductive strategies (presentation of a statement introductory organizer, progressive differentiation and integrative synthesis); critical teaching with the presentation and discussion of problems; research, with deductive and inductive strategies; in Learning Interpersonal Models - Research Work Group. 

Learning Outcomes

This unit is formatted, each year, to the needs of each specific group of students in order to tackle eventual needs not covered in other units, so that in the end of the unit, each student is prepared to start, autonomously, is research proposal as defined in his/her thesis proposal. The objective is to develop advanced knowledge in the scientific area of geologic resources and environment, as well as to develop the capabilities of gathering and manipulating scientific data.
