Recommended Prerequisites

The student must have academic knowledge in the area of Geosciences given by attendance, with approval, in curricular units of the 1st cycle in Geology or of 2nd cycles from the Geosciences areas and he/she must understand the Portuguese language.

Teaching Methods

Field work; Laboratory work; Oral presentation, done by the student, of the realized technical work; Tutorial follow-up of the technical works performed by the student.

Learning Outcomes

The objectives of this curricular unit are the development of capacities and competences in acquisition, systematization, interrelation, treatment and presentation of technical data (field and laboratory) of Geological Processes themes, which are important for the students’ project of work.

Syllabus

The syllabus of this Seminar is oriented for the realization and presentation of the results of practical works by the students which are of interest to their investigation. So, the syllabus will be adapted according to the students’ investigations goals. For example: if a student project is on External Geodynamics he/she may have to show methods and techniques of numerical modelling of the geomorphologic evolution, among others.
