Sociology of Sport; Ethics and Sport Law; Auxology and Kinanthropometry; Methodology Training; Evaluation and Control of Training; Sport Pedagogy; Sport Psychology.

Teaching Methods

Teaching methods: Support of lectures with PowerPoint presentations. Analysis and debate of the literature, including the PowerPoint presentation by the students. Exercises on the sociometric tests. Thematic critical review report.

Students will experience an in-service opportunity under the supervision of a teaching staff member from the university and also a certified staff member indicated by the partner.

[2] To justify the social foundation of long-term sport programs taking into account national and international recommendations.

Syllabus

[1] Involvements, values and social pressures. Social action in sports field. Acculturation of values, expectations and pressures on performance. Mobility and social prestige. [2] Sports spectacles, marketing and promotion of media. Major sporting events in the context of globalization. The role of media in promoting the sport: From public stimulation to the heroification of athletes. The media as a space of pressure and criticism of the performance of coaches and athletes.  [3] Social dynamics in sporting careers. General trends of development of modern sport, more seriously, intensifying competition, more investment and personal financial pressures and expectations on the results of sporting and social success. Sociometric tests and measure instruments with a view to boosting of sociability and social inclusion among children and young athletes. [4] Gender asymmetries. [5] Sports policies, public promotion and spirit of national mission. The sports competition as a space for national representation. Relations between state and sports associations: framework for cooperation and support of high competition. European policies. [6] Trends of the late modern sport.

 

 

Putting into practice problems addressed in the units: (a) growth and maturation in the young athlete; (b) readiness and talent in sport; (c) evaluation and control of training – part I, (d) motor development and learning in the context of sport; (e) Physiopathology and recovery techniques – part I.
