Teaching Methods

The teaching methodology includes teacher’s lectures, and student’s presentations. Practical lessons consist in planning and implementing sessions for people with special needs.

Learning Outcomes

The unit aims to promote opportunities for practice in the area of special educational needs, enabling the practice through direct contact with people with disabilities. Learning outcomes:

- To develop physical fitness assessment skills in special groups using appropriate measuring instruments and to recognize the guidelines of the development of exercise programs in special population

- To understand the relevance of regular physical activities in health and physical and mental well-being;

- To develop competences on planning, organization and intervention in special needs groups regarding characteristics and specific needs of each group.

- Importance of the initial assessment in planning and organization of exercise programs. Selection of measuring instruments depending on particular characteristics of each group.

- Preparation of an anamnesis form.

- Models and spectrum of inclusion in physical and sports activities.

- Strategies for planning and promotion of physical and sports activities for special populations.

- Organization of an inclusive sport event.

- Planning and implementation of physical activities and sport sessions.
