Teaching Methods

The teaching methodology includes teacher’s lectures, and student’s presentations. Practical lessons consist in planning and implementing sport events and sessions for people with special needs.

Learning Outcomes

The unit aims to promote opportunities for practice in the area of special educational needs, enabling the practice through direct contact with people with disabilities. Learning outcomes:

- To develop physical fitness assessment skills in special groups using appropriate measuring instruments and to recognize the guidelines of the development of exercise programs in special population

- To understand the relevance of regular physical activities in health and physical and mental well-being;

- To develop competences on planning, organization and intervention in special needs groups regarding characteristics and specific needs of each group.

• Theoretical principles of exercise prescription in special groups and resources needed.

• Evaluation of the training process - readjustment of objectives and strategies according to the results.

• Inventory of the main procedures of the organization of a sport event, with the participation of groups of athletes or teams in the competition – human and material resources. SWOT analysis of the organization of a sport event.

• Planning and implementation of recreational and sport/ physical activities sessions.

• Organization of a Sport event.
