Learning Outcomes

PhD students shall carry out research work leading to the writing and presentation of a thesis in line with any of the major topics of Theater and Performance Studies. For this purpose, students shall take into account the diversity of possible subjects, the theories of theater and entertainment, the theories of performativity, criticism and the history of theater and entertainment (in its national, comparatist and crossdisciplinary aspects), as well as the various languages of theater, including writing for the stage, interpretation/acting and staging. 

Students should also develop scientific autonomy, mastering research methodologies and the ability to link together their work with national and international research networks.

Research work must be developed individually. PhD students must show several work, innovation, independence and critical thinking skills resulting in an original research work that offers an important contribution to the scientific fields in question.
