Learning Outcomes
The doctoral student, by the end of the cycle, should have produced, in a pertinent and unique way, a thesis framed within the multiple Music Studies subdisciplines. All bridges with the extensive University of Coimbra heritage, both material and imaterial, should be welcomed.
The doctoral student should also acquire a robust autonomy and critical thinking build on the several research tools, methodologies and, most importantly, a good grasp of the musicological and musical realities, both national wise and abroad. He should strive for the contextual setting of his thesis within the several, often multidisciplinary, international research networks.
