Recommended Prerequisites

The student must have detailed knowledge in the area of ​​Criminal Sciences, especially in field of criminal procedure doctrine. It is advisable that the student has the ability to read scientific texts on the subject, in Spanish, Italian, French, English and possibly German.

Teaching Methods

The course is organized in classroom sessions. The teacher introduces the theme of the day (previously disclosed to the auditors). After this, one or more auditors present a critical overview about the same issue. For each session, the auditors should prepare a report on which will focus the discussion. The evaluation will be assigned taking into account the participation in seminars, presentation of work in the session, and written work delivered at the end of the semester.

Learning Outcomes

The main objective is developing a critical perspective regarding evidence in criminal procedure. To do so it will be considered the main issues under discussion in the doctrine. It is intended that the student obtain a critical knowledge about the challenges imposed by new technologies in the criminal procedure, and the compatibility of this and the main principles of criminal procedure law, such as, principle of the accusation, principle of investigation in a procedural valid way. For this, updated bibliography is indicated. It is also a main of the course the promoting of research by the students and promoting the ability to expose their work in seminars.
