Teaching Methods
The seminar sessions are for presentation and discussion of the bibliography indicated by the teacher and also of the texts suggested by the students, from their research paths. It is expected a strong participation of students, who must present in class comments to the bibliography proposed by teachers as well as suggest readings that, being related to their individual research, may be of interest to the collective, and enhance epistemological and methodological connections.
Learning Outcomes
The main objective of this course is to familiarize students with epistemological and methodological debates in Social Sciences and Sociology, allowing the acquisition of cognitive tools to enable a proper interpretation of results from studies with different methodological profiles. As a result of this course the students should develop the ability to evaluate research work, theoretical and operational options, and research results.
Work Placement(s)
NoSyllabus
This course focuses on the discussion of reference bibliography that build innovative and challenging epistemological approaches. This course takes as its subject the analysis of national and international works to fulfill a dual purpose: on the one hand, from a general point of view, discuss their contributions to the construction of sociological knowledge, on the other hand, support the definition of the pathways of individual research to students.
The semester provides 15 sessions of the Seminar. Seven sessions are for discussion of literature indicated by the teacher, the other to the discussions of students’ proposals.
