The evaluation takes place by means of the oral defense of the thesis in the presence of a jury.

Learning Outcomes

High level research and the corresponding wording of a doctoral thesis (dissertation) is essential for obtaining the doctor degree.

The III Studies Cycle without doctoral course includes solely the preparation (with tutorial orientation) of a thesis. The candidature must than include the project of the dissertation, underwritten by the candidate ant the tutor.

As a rule, this modality of III Cycle presupposes the knowledge by the tutor of the scientific personality of the candidate.

If it’s not the situation, the candidates shall attend the doctoral course, consisting on four seminars (two semesters), one of them being the general seminar ant the other three specialized seminars (two of them must fit the specialization area of the candidate). Until the end of the scholar year subsequent to the one of the doctoral course the approved candidates shall require to the scientific council the migration to the phase of elaborating the thesis; they must than introduce the project of the thesis, underwritten by the candidate ant the tutor.

The tutor shall give notice about the evolution of the research yearly to scientific council by means of a written report.
